DANIEL BOARDMAN

The oldest of four children Daniel Boardman grew up swinging a hammer for his father’s building and remodeling company Boardman Construction. This allowed for a very fundamental understanding of how homes go together, materials, cost, practical design, and budget. In High School Daniel excelled in Art Studio winning many awards as a detail oriented perfectionist with a focus on clay sculpture, nature & wildlife tempera paintings, and surreal oil paintings.  Graduating with honors Daniel attended the University of Kansas School of Architecture, while continuing to work in remodeling and home construction during the summers. Upon Graduation Daniel worked for several prominent Architects including Wolfgang Trost Architects and Sven Alstrom of Ecological Architecture. Daniel went on to refocus his passion for building and working directly with subcontractors as the lead designer of an environmentally friendly design-build company. Daniel has designed and built many ecologically responsible homes to refine and thoroughly understand each phase of residential construction and sustainable design implementation.

This experience culminates into the belief that a successful building is facilitated by a process focused on listening, collaboration, and designing within a budget. Each & every design is developed and brought to life by listening to your design goals, keeping a sharp eye on your budget, attention to design detail, and working with established and trustworthy builders.

Daniel Boardman’s designs are inspired by the philosophy that each and every home is an integral part of its surroundings and should be based on the vision and style of its owners.  Each design fundamentally strives to incorporate environmental & budget conscious design decisions and functionality of space. Sustainability and context are at the forefront of each step in the design process which ensures thoughtful and environmentally sound materials and design solutions that fit their surroundings.  This process creates tasteful yet noteworthy buildings seamlessly woven into the fabric of each Austin neighborhood and Hill Country vista.
